Tim Hortons Cafe & Bake Shop raises $12.4 million (cad) on Camp Day with 100 percent of coffee sales donated to the Tim Horton Children’s Foundation

Camp Day. Wednesday, June 3

OAKVILLE, ON – June 09, 2015 – More than 18,000 kids will go to camp this year thanks to the generous support of Tim Hortons Cafe & Bake Shop guests and restaurant owners across North America who came together to raise $12.4 million (CAD) during this year’s Camp Day on Wednesday, June 3. All funds raised will make attending camp a reality for thousands of kids from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

On Camp Day, all of the proceeds from coffee sales at the more than 4,700 Tim Hortons restaurants across Canada and the United States are donated to the Tim Horton Children’s Foundation (THCF) to send kids from low-income homes on an unforgettable camp experience.

“We want to thank everyone who helped make it possible to send these kids on an amazing camp adventure, which helps them gain the skills, experience and confidence to build a brighter future,” says David Blackmore, president, Tim Hortons U.S.A. “To our loyal guests, generous restaurant owners, dedicated team members, celebrities and volunteers, we want to thank you all for making this year’s Camp Day a resounding success.”

In addition to purchasing coffee at Tim Hortons Cafe & Bake Shop on June 3, guests supported Camp Day by rounding up their order to the nearest dollar amount, sponsoring tents or cabins in restaurant and by donating funds by texting CAMP to 45678 (Canada) or 41518 (U.S.) or online at www.sendakidtocamp.com.

“This is a very special year, with the opening of our seventh camp, Tim Horton Camp Whiteshell, in Pinawa, Manitoba. Raising $12.4 million on Camp Day is the perfect way to mark the occasion and celebrate,” says Dave Newnham, vice president and executive director, Tim Horton Children’s Foundation. “Camp Day is our largest fundraiser of the year and has been essential in helping us make a true difference by sending more than 215,000 kids to camp over the years.”
