Tim Hortons' decision to close restaurants in Metropolitan Hartford and Providence was a difficult one.  While our overall business in the U.S. continues to grow and gain momentum, the greater Providence and Hartford markets proved to be unique.  These are two of the most highly concentrated restaurant markets in the U.S. We tried a number of marketing and operational initiatives that ultimately didn't meet our expectations.

We wholeheartedly thank our guests, operators and staff for their support and patronage. We are committed to helping them:

• We hope to relocate operators and corporate staff to other markets where we continue to grow.
• We are offering financial packages to restaurant operators. We are also helping them provide severance packages and career counseling for their staff, which is not required by law. Thank you again for your support.
