Wal-Mart Canada Supercentres to include Tim Hortons

Strong Canadian consumer brands blend under one roof

Mississauga, Ontario - September 13, 2007 - Wal-Mart Canada Corp. announced today that Tim Hortons stores will begin appearing in Wal-Mart Canada Supercentres later this year, bringing two of Canada's favourite consumer brands together under one roof. The first outlets will open this fall in Lethbridge and Edmonton Alberta, and Brockville, Ontario. Additional individual locations are planned for Lethbridge, Edmonton, and Airdrie, Alberta; and Orleans, Ontario - a combined total of seven by early 2008.

The addition of Tim Hortons complements the appeal of Wal-Mart Supercentres, offering customers greater selection and service in one stop. Tim Hortons counters and seating will be located at one of two front entrances, characteristic of Wal-Mart Supercentres. The presence and placement of Tim Hortons outlets complements the store-front services common to Wal-Mart stores nationwide, including travel agencies, beauty salons, photo services, pharmacies, convenience food, and more.

"We're in the business of helping Wal-Mart customers check as many items as possible off their shopping lists," said Ross Thompson, Director of Licensee Operations, Wal-Mart Canada Corp. "You don't have to look too far down Canadian to-do lists to find 'a stop at Tim Hortons.' We pride ourselves on having the brands our customers want on our shelves and under our roof - and we're adding a true icon."

"Tim Hortons is pleased to partner with Wal-Mart Supercentres as we continue to focus our non-traditional restaurant development in areas and locations that are convenient for our customers," said Gary Buchanan, Vice President, New Business Development, Tim Hortons. "Both of our companies understand the value of convenience and quality, and together we're positioned to serve our millions of shared customers better."
