November 22, 2005 (Dublin, OH) - In just three weeks, Tim Hortons customers donated $802,196.52 (CDN) for the Red Cross emergency relief efforts to help families affected by Hurricane Katrina. From September 8th to 30th, Tim Horton Children's Foundation coin boxes in over 2,700 participating Tim Hortons stores and drive thrus across Canada and the United States, collected funds for the Red Cross Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. This generous customer donation is in addition to the $500,000 (CDN) corporate donation to the Canadian Red Cross on behalf of all Tim Hortons Store Owners, their staff and all corporate offices.

"We are extremely pleased with the results of the coin box fundraiser," said Paul House, President & COO, Tim Hortons.  "I would like to thank all of the customers and staff at our stores who have given to this cause. It's through their support and generosity that the Red Cross will help victims of Hurricane Katrina and their families as they continue to struggle through this difficult time."

All funds raised through the coin box collection campaign will be going directly to American Red Cross Hurricane Katrina relief efforts.

"These funds will help the American Red Cross provide food, shelter, financial assistance and mental health services to the people devastated by Hurricane Katrina," said John Mulvihill, Deputy Secretary General, Canadian Red Cross. "The Canadian Red Cross has also sent 260 volunteers to the U.S. to support the American Red Cross relief operations."
