Camp Day 2002 raises $4.8 million!

Camp Day We asked our customers to help and they did!

May 17, 2002 - By going to Tim Hortons on May 15th and buying a cup of coffee, Tim Hortons customers have helped to raise $4.8 million (CDN) on Camp Day! These funds were raised through coffee and other Camp Day fundraising activities and events.

"I want to thank everyone for buying a cup of coffee and participating in Camp Day this year," said Don Schroeder, President of the Tim Horton Children's Foundation. "It's because of fundraising efforts such as this that the Foundation is able to offer more programs to even more deserving children. And on June 24th, the Foundation will welcome the first group of kids to our new camp in St. George, Ontario. As you can see, it's a very exciting time for us!"

The entire coffee proceeds collected on Camp Day go to the Tim Horton Children's Foundation to help send children, who otherwise wouldn't be able to afford it, on an all-expense paid camping adventure. This year, more than 9,000 children, selected from the communities where Tim Hortons stores operate, will benefit from a camp experience.

Tim Hortons is Canada's largest coffee and baked goods chain with more than 2,100 stores across the country, and more than 140 stores in the U.S., based mainly in the Buffalo, New York; Columbus, Ohio and Detroit, Michigan markets. The Tim Horton Children's Foundation is a non-profit, charitable organization founded in 1974 by Ron Joyce, Co-Founder of Tim Hortons, in honor of his late friend and National Hockey League star, Tim Horton.

Tim Hortons would like to acknowledge the generosity of its customers, dedicated store staff, and the participation and assistance of many special guests and the media with just one word. Thanks!
