Tim Hortons to support Hurricane Katrina emergency relief efforts

As a result of the devastation and heartbreak being suffered by the thousands of families left in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, Tim Hortons will support the Red Cross emergency relief efforts through a coin box collection fundraiser at participating stores and a donation on behalf of Tim Hortons Store Owners and Corporate Offices.

Between Thursday, September 8th and Friday, September 30th, all funds raised through the Tim Horton Children's Foundation coin boxes, found in over 2,700 participating Tim Hortons stores and drive thrus across Canada and the U.S., will be forwarded to the Canadian Red Cross and the American Red Cross Hurricane Katrina emergency relief efforts.

An additional donation of $500,000 (CDN) is also being made to the Canadian Red Cross Hurricane Katrina emergency relief efforts on behalf of Tim Hortons Store Owners and Corporate Offices.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the families who have been affected by this horrible disaster," said Paul House, President and Chief Operating Officer, The TDL Group Corp. (operators of Tim Hortons). "We hope that the donations from the public and the support of organizations like the Red Cross will help the victims of Hurricane Katrina and their families as they struggle through this extremely difficult time."
